The groundbreaking was held at the 2.75 acre site for the project that is located on East Tudor Road between New Seward Highway and Shelikof street. The event featured an official gold shovel groundbreaking ceremony and representative speeches from Tudor Bingo, Sitnasauk Native Corp. and Pfeffer Development, LLC Anchorage East Rotary Club representative. This new bingo center will be around 19,000 square feet. Once, it is through the central entrance canopy, the 15 feet high ceiling will automatically create an inviting atmosphere absolutely ideal for a perfect gaming experience. The place was discovered around 20 years ago and Tudor Bingo has raised more than $21 million for non – profits in the Alaskan community. The new building of Tudor Bingo is believed to be the state of the art bingo facility in Alaska. During the event, Tudor Bingo owner John powers spoke in the memory of his brother Jack Powers who is the founder of Tudor Bingo as well. He even honoured his brother Jack by displaying his photograph.
The developer for this project is Nanuaq Development (a joint venture between Sitnasuak Native Corp and Pfeffer Development). Sitnasuak Native Corp is the largest of the 16 village corporations in the Bering Straits region, headquartered in Nome. Pfeffer Development is an Alaska based commercial real estate developer. In addition to teaming together on this new project, Tudor Bingo also announces its partnership with the Sitnasuak Foundation, a private non – profit corporation that funds scholarships to Sitnasuak shareholders and other Alaskan applicants too. David Hoffman, the chief executive officer of Sitnasuak Native Corp. spoke about how they are expanding their projects into cultural and educational programs. He is looking forward to this new venture with Tudor Bingo as this will help him to enrich the lives of the shareholders and other Alaskans as well. We wish him good luck!
